Lyric Video Animation - 2024
Created in 2024 as part of my animation class, this project blends motion design and artistic storytelling. Its primary goal was to explore dynamic text movement and the seamless integration of imagery, resulting in a visually engaging experience. Building on the creative foundation of my earlier book cover project, “YLLW” by Bakar; creating a cohesive artistic narrative that ties sound and visuals together in a compelling way.
Book Cover Project - 2023
In 2023, I designed a series of three book covers inspired by the song “Yllw” by Bakar. This track has a slow tempo, raw vulnerability, and profound exploration of interpersonal conflict; served as the foundation for my designs. Each cover reflects the emotional depth and narrative layered within the song, highlighting themes of loss, longing, and the fragility of connection. I sought to visually translate the essence of the lyrics, infusing the covers with the haunting beauty of the person slipping away in the story. Through deliberate design choices, I aimed to honor the song’s dark yet powerful mood while creating a cohesive visual narrative.
Infographic Poster - 2023
For my infographic poster, I chose to highlight the fascinating deep-sea creature, the anglerfish. The deep sea greatly intrigues me due to its mystery and the many discoveries yet to be made. Anglerfish are particularly interesting, as most people know little about them beyond their appearance in *Finding Nemo*—famous for their glowing lure. However, I wanted to create a poster that appeals to a wider audience, especially tweens and older individuals, to shed more light on this unique species.
While researching infographic designs, I noticed very few resources about the anglerfish, which inspired me to take on this project. Beyond its ominous appearance, I explored facts many might not know, such as the variety of species and its culinary use in Japanese cuisine. Initially, I considered a watercolor aesthetic, but switched to cartoon illustrations, which felt more fitting given its portrayal in *Finding Nemo*.
I designed the background with a gradient of light-to-dark colors to mimic ocean depth, and illustrated the anglerfish with vibrant shades of purple for a playful feel. To make the information stand out, I used bold purple text boxes on the ombre backdrop, creating a fun yet informative design to spark curiosity about this mysterious deep-sea creature.
Kobe Poster '22
This poster showcases Kobe Bryant through a vibrant collage of carefully curated images, celebrating his unparalleled legacy and impact on the sport of basketball. The artwork employs bold typography, textures, and layered imagery to capture Kobe’s energy, determination, and inspirational essence as a player and a cultural icon. The interplay of colors, movement, and spatial arrangement adds depth to the piece, making it as striking as the athlete it celebrates. This was made before his passing but still celebrates his relentless drive and iconic presence.
Facade '20
“Facade” is an abstract sculpture that delves into the complexities of human identity and the illusionary façades we present to the world. Crafted from delicate flower green foam and painted with layers of white and purple acrylic, the piece embodies vulnerability and vibrant expression. The colors symbolize purity and transformation, highlighting the tension between public masks and private truths.
The tactile, asymmetric design evokes introspection, underscoring the fragility and duality of our personas. By confronting the performative aspects of existence, “Facade” invites viewers to reflect on the layered identities we construct and the hidden truths behind them.
